EventsFor one night only this July, Rafael Cagali of Da Terra has invited Ivan Brehm to cook a collaborative dinner that draws on the food cultures of Mediterranean Europe, Brazil, and Southeast Asia. Ivan and Rafael go way back. Their love for research-driven cooking brought them to the The Fat Duck at the same time. Ivan came from Hibiscus. Rafael, from Quique Dacosta. At long last, they are reunited once again.
Originally from Sao Paolo in Brazil, Rafael Cagali cut his teeth at some of Europe’s most influential restaurants. He spent three years with Stefano Baiocco at a Villa Feltrinelli before working with Quique Dacosta and Martin Berasategui at their eponymous restaurants. Rafael also worked at The Fat Duck and led the kitchen at Fera before opening Da Terra with Paulo Airaudo last year.
